Alienware made a name for themselves with high performance systems that were geared towards gaming. With the economy in a slump, many companies have scaled back their high performance, high price tag systems. Alienware decided to go against this trend and release a new 17-inch laptop that offers some very high performance but also a more affordable option. It is now mid-July and the back to school push is on by retailers and manufacturers. If you have a student going to college that needs a new laptop, why not consider a new class of ultraportable that provides great battery life but with more performance than a netbook. NewEgg has the new Acer Timeline 3810 13.3" laptop for just $650. It uses the new Intel Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor on the CULV platform to provide exceptional battery life. Also included is 4GB DDR3 memory, 320GB hard drive, 13.3-inch display, 802.11a/g/n wireless, Vista Home Premium OS and weighing just 3.5 pounds. It should be noted that this does not come with a DVD drive, so you will need to purchase a USB external drive if you want this feature.

This is the primary method of data storage for the system and it has exploded over the past couple of years. How much space does one need? Does the type of interface really matter? Why does the system have two hard drives but only have the storage space of a single drive? These are some of the questions that you will have to answer when buying a desktop PC.

Lenovo's support has undergone some minor changes in the last couple of months much of it probably due to the economic climate. Most notable is the removal of their online support chat system. The rest of their support site seems to remain untouched. Does this small change produce a big shift in their support services? After all, they were one of the best rated support companies in the past. Find out what Lenovo offers customers in terms of support for their products in my profile.
